MVB: Meeting on Vesicular Biology (ORGANIZED BY PROTEOSTASIS)

Event Date: 16 February, 2018 to 17 February, 2018

The objective of this meeting is to disseminate the work done by PROTEOSTASIS members in the context of endocytosis, autophagy and extracellular vesicles; foster the discussion among researchers working in different fields of proteostasis, thus promoting the networking; stimulate the debate and crosstalk between different disciplines devoted to proteolysis.

This meeting will bring together people from different fields of proteostasis, namely proteolysis. The strategy for this initiative intends to cross the traditional boundaries between various topics of protein quality control mechanisms, including endocytosis, autophagy, intracellular trafficking and extracellular vesicles. In this context, “vesicle” constitutes an overarching concept that is transversal and unifies all these topics. Under this umbrella, we can promote wider collaboration between research groups usually focused in their specific topics of interest. The achievements that can emerge from these discussions can open new unanticipated opportunities to establish more disruptive collaborative projects and also to accelerate the development of applied innovative strategies with translational and market value. For all the above reasons, this is a meeting with a potential wide audience, coming from various fields of research. The thematic will interest PROTEOTASIS participants from all the WGs, principally WG3, and with a translational perspective (WG6).
