8th Proteasome & Autophagy Congress Clermont-Ferrand, France, April 25-27, 2018

Event Date: 25 April, 2018

The 8th Proteasome & Autophagy Congress will be held at Clermont-Ferrand, France, April 25-27, 2018. It will cover up-to date knowledge on proteolytic systems
(Ubiquitin Proteasome System and Autophagy) and their implication in different diseases. Indeed, understanding the molecular processes that control the Ubiquitin Proteasome System and Autophagy is crucial for the development of future therapeutic strategies.

This Congress will cover new insights on Proteasome structure and function. A specific session will also be dedicated to substrate targeting and signaling pathways that control the fine-tuning of protein modifications by ubiquitin (ubiquitination and deubiquitination) and Ub-like proteins. All these modifications play a crucial role in a wide range of cellular processes (cancer, cell stress, signal transduction, etc.). The last session will focus on Autophagy, which is interconnected with the UPS and plays also a major role in cell homeostasis (particularly for eliminating abnormal organelles, controlling energy balance and protein trafficking).

The Scientific and Organizing Committees set up an attractive scientific program with outstanding international speakers that have contributed to the characterization of the UPS and Autophagy, and to the development of new major concepts in proteolysis. This meeting provides an opportunity for scientists to improve the transfer of knowledge from basic to applied science and from group leaders to young investigators, and to open new space of interest and investigation for the near future.
