The Final COST Action BM1307 Meeting
22-24 February 2018, Divani Palace Acropolis, Athens, Greece

This is the final meeting of the Action and will be instrumental to decide the future of the network after the COST fund ends. It will involve the participation of all WGs, the key members of the network (including early career investigators) and it will be organized in parallel with the last MC Meeting. It will be open to external researchers, companies, clinics and other target groups, which can benefit from the achievements of PROTEOSTASIS. The final meeting will be plural and multidisciplinary, with the participation of all the WGs, giving voice to the inclusive countries and to the young investigators, always under strict gender balance surveillance.

In the past, PROTEOSTASIS general meetings have been an important element for cohesion, initiation of collaborations and rising of initiatives. The dynamic interchange of ideas and the productive and enthusiastic atmosphere made of the meetings in Valencia, Croatia or Lisbon true successes. The purpose of this meeting is to canalize this amazing and productive energy to preserve and enlarge the network in the future, capitalizing all the networking and the efforts already achieved.

The main objectives of the meeting are the following:

  1. To disseminate research accomplishments by members of the PROTEOSTASIS network, outlining the collaborative aspects enhanced through the participation in the activities organized in previous years.
  2. Discussions on the role of proteostatic mechanisms in physiology and disease in multiple experimental systems including Biomedicine and Biotechnology.
  3. Importantly, we will establish the basis for the exploitation and follow up of the network and how to capitalize the knowledge gather in the previous years. Strategies of continuation will be discussed and implemented.
